Flights to Moroni Prince Said Ibrahim (HAH)

What the airlines say, with no promise of frequency.

Kenya Airways

The airline offers a Nairobi (NBO) to Moroni (HAH) route. The page we read does not guarantee year-round frequency or a nonstop flight on every date, so check your own dates.

Ethiopian

Moroni appears on the airline's current destination list. A specific flight from Addis Ababa on your date needs confirming in the timetable.

Reunion

Air Austral announced direct Reunion to Moroni flights every Wednesday from 1 July to 9 September 2026, on top of the usual routing via Mayotte. That period is over. One flight a week is announced for December 2026 and January 2027, so check before booking.

Taxi and transfer from Prince Said Ibrahim Airport (HAH)

Agree the price and the pickup point before you arrive.

A local operator, Com'Tour Voyages, gives 5,000 to 15,000 KMF for a taxi between the airport and Moroni and also arranges transfers on request. That is an undated guide, not an official fare or a promise for every hotel. We found no public airport bus and no reliable journey time. Ask your hotel whether it arranges pickup, and settle the price before you get in.

To plan your first night, see Moroni hotels and where to stay, then Moroni to get your bearings.

Car hire and parking

Local companies exist, but public detail is thin.

The national tourist office (ONTC) lists local vehicle rental companies on Grande Comore. We have no prices, no deposit or insurance rules and no parking fees, so ask the company directly. On licences, the UK Foreign Office says a British photocard licence can be used for up to 3 months and that paper licences may need an international permit. We cannot extend that rule to other nationalities, so confirm with the rental company and the authorities.

Inter-island flights and boats

The least documented part of the trip.

France recommends arriving by air. It names SGTM as the safety-related exception among sea operators and mentions a weekly Moroni to Anjouan service. The SGTM site confirms a passenger shipping company and an Anjouan destination, but no price or specific day, so the weekly mention is not a confirmed timetable. French advice expressly warns against kwassa-kwassa for moving between islands and mentions penalties. The Foreign Office also warns about overloaded boats.

For flights between the islands, ONTC refers to inter-island air travel without naming an airline or a frequency. We have no timetable to offer for Anjouan or Moheli, and we do not say such flights do not exist. See the Anjouan and Moheli pages.
